Til Twoberfest is a very special event that came about because our friends Charlie & Kim like to get drunk in fanciful outfits, and do do we. Last year our busy schedules prevented us from going to any sort of prearranged Oktoberfest celebration together, so we threw on our dindls and lederhosen and got day drunk at Til Two Club, one of our favorite local bars. This year, we decided to do this again, but take it up a notch with authentic food and even a FLIER (by Charlie, see above). NOW IT'S OFFICIAL.
So Jason and I threw on our Bavarian finery.
He didn't buy lederhosen when we were in Germany together last year because he judged leather pants to be too pricey for once-a-year celebrations. So his outfit, nice as it may look, was actually just a t-shirt.
It's the Oktoberfest version of one of these. It helped him get in the oompah spirit.
We made cucumber salad (and brought a dessert, but more on that later).
We were so devoted to the theme that we carried the food there in a reusable grocery bag from Germany ("this bag is green").
We descended upon the bar right after it opened at 4PM. Til Twoberfest is a day-drinking holiday.
Charlie & Kim made sausage with sauerkraut and Alton Brown's pretzels.
What's that in the corner? JULIAN APPLE PIE?!
Of course. It's "German" Apple Crumb!
And, last but not least, bathroom stall Gender Studies...
